Night Ski / by Art Burrows

An exhilarating whoosh of faceted crystalline deep snow delight.
2 below crystals swirling past my headlamp in the stark moonlit light,

None more visceral, no more exciting a feeling, than this weightless winter elation,
Of my being rapidly falling, floating down through ones private spinal sensation.

A blast in the face reconfirms we’ve made the right decision,
To climb towards another summit at a crisp high altitude elevation.

Nothing finer, nothing sweeter, nothing fresher, more real nor lighter
Than a cold winter storm, a clear night and a spark of winter’s neural ignitor.
